About Sara Tom

I am a retired Army sergeant. I wore many hats during my time in the service: mentor, logistics coordinator, family liaison, administration duties, project lead, instructor, and dabbled in IT. I was a medic, water purification specialist, and supply and logistics coordinator for my units. On the civilian side, I dabbled in Financial consulting, then moved on to Medical Research as a research coordinator. I worked with patients, IRBs, DoD, US Army, FDA, and the VA. I then moved into the profession I went to University for and became an instructor. I taught all manners of science from 5th grade to 12th grade. I taught Art and Forensic electives. I currently teach English Language Arts and Social Studies at the 5th grade level. As a teacher, I also wear many hats. I am an educator, lesson planner, parent liaison, manager, counselor, and many more. I thought that multitasking was not a real thing until I started teaching. All areas of my careers have posed challenges, but I tend to make the best out of everything I do and portray myself with resilience and professionalism.
