About Sara Torrey

With over 25 years of experience spanning education, community building, the arts, and technology, I’ve built my career around one consistent goal: helping people connect ideas to action. My career began in education and the arts, where I learned the power of storytelling, empathy, and collaboration. Those roots continue to guide my work today as a Product Manager and Community Advocate in the event sourcing and domain-driven design space, where systems thinking meets human experience. As a podcast producer and storyteller, I explore topics ranging from technology and “Moms Who Code” to immigration, resilience, and equality—amplifying voices that reflect the diversity and strength of our global community. These conversations embody my belief that technology and storytelling can work together to create understanding, connection, and social change. I am also a conscious equality advocate, inspired by the Woman, Life, Freedom movement, dedicated to fostering inclusion, empathy, and awareness in every professional and personal space I’m a part of. My path reflects a blend of creativity, structure, and purpose—from teaching and designing learning experiences to managing complex software products and building engaged communities. Whether guiding a product roadmap, hosting a conversation, or advocating for equality, I remain focused on one thing: building systems—both human and technical—that make meaningful change possible.
