About Sarah Beaumont

Growing up in a small, rural area, I understand and appreciate the power of community and just what is possible when a group of like-minded individuals work together towards a common goal - when they work as a team. However, for a team to work together effectively and efficiently, they need more than just a common purpose. They need cohesion. They need to be engaged. They need strong leadership that they can trust. You could take the best players in the NHL, throw them on the ice together and while they might do okay for a while, if they didn't understand their roles and the expectations, work together, care about the game (and each other) and have a good coach who knew how to pull it all together, support them, and keep them engaged, they wouldn't get too far. And that, in a nutshell, is my outlook on what a business needs to do to be successful. Because fundamentally, whether large or small, every successful business has one thing in common - they work as a caring, cohesive, and engaged team. Throughout my career, I have been privileged to have been an important part of some really terrific teams. In my current role at Advantage Communications, I am part of an absolutely amazing team. We understand each other, we understand the needs of the business and we always work together towards our common goals - often accomplishing the seemingly impossible! Previously at ACI, I worked closely with our Leadership Team as their Executive Assistant and while each position came with it's own unique challenges (as every position does), they have both also been very rewarding - and I think that's really the key to being happy in your job. If an employee, at any level, feels that they are contributing to the whole in a meaningful way, that their role is important, that they are accomplishing something important, and they are recognized for those accomplishments, you are already ahead of the game in keeping that employee engaged; and an engaged employee is a productive - and happy - employee.
