I feel very fortunate to have experienced such an extensive career that has led me to become the Director and Senior Occupational Therapist at OKAY Therapy.My rich experience has included roles as an occupational therapist and carer within prolific teams at global events such as the Commonwealth Games and the Paralympic World Championships. Throughout my experience, I have discovered the crucial connection between the quality of relationships and the influence on individual engagement. Creating a supportive environment around the person has become a key focus area in my practice and within our team at OKAY Therapy. These insights have profoundly shaped my approach to therapy, emphasising my commitment to creating inclusive and supportive systems.I am passionate about dismantling systems that confine and marginalise people, tirelessly working to cultivate positive inclusion so everyone has the opportunity to thrive and be their authentic selves. At OKAY Therapy, my focus is on removing bureaucratic obstacles to ensure broader access to therapy, making sure our clients feel seen and heard.What started as an occupational therapy service created for flexibility and to exercise my fresh perspectives quickly attracted a team of over twenty members, all committed to neuro-affirming and trauma-informed practices. I’m extremely proud of our innovative group therapies and parent support initiatives that break the mould of traditional therapy, making it accessible to more individuals and families.
