About Sarah Breternitz

Biography Sarah Breternitz is a student at California State University, Chico completing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice. She received an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences with an emphasis in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Santa Barbara City College in May of 2014. While pursuing her Associate's Degree, Sarah managed a busy schedule by holding a position as a Cashier and Algebra Homework Grader, in addition to being a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and attaining a spot on the President’s Honor Roll for two consecutive years. Upon completion of her degree, Sarah transferred to California State University, Chico in the Fall of 2014 to pursue a Bachelor of Arts Degree where she landed a position as the Associated Student’s Online Sales Assistant selling items from the former Bookstore. During her first semester at California State University, Chico, Sarah joined St. Jude Up ‘Til Dawn's recruitment team, recruiting sororities and fraternities. Concurrently, she earned a spot on the Dean of Behavioral and Social Sciences Honor list. Just as the position for the mail distributor and collector became vacant in May of 2015, Sarah took over those responsibilities allowing her to work closely with the Associated Students Conference Services. Concurrently to filling the position as the Associated Students Mail Distributor and Collector, Sarah accepted the position as the Student Assistant at the Department of History, allowing her to work closely with the Administrative Support Coordinator and gaining some experience in educational administration. What Sarah enjoyed most in her past, as well as recent positions, is the interaction with students, faculty, and staff. When she is not trying to finish her school work or working for the Associated Students and the Department of History, Sarah volunteers at the Community Housing Improvement Program’s Murphy Commons, which offers low income-housing for eligible individuals and families.
