About Sarah Burrows

Having efficient and smooth operating procedures is a highly important (and often underrated) component of a successful business. This mentality is what originally drew me into operational focused roles and it's why I choose to stay. I enjoy the problem solving and flexibility that is required in supply chain roles, and I am a strong believer that operational processes can be continuously improved. I enjoy working in fast-paced and dynamic environments, where I can use my problem-solving, data administration, and inventory management skills to optimize processes and reduce costs. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in business/commerce from the University of Alberta in 2020, with a focus on operations management. I also hold a project management professional (PMP) certificate from Camosun College, which I obtained in 2017. Since joining the workforce I have been growing my skills in supply chain and operations roles. I spent the year working for Trafigura, a global commodities company. There, I gained valuable experience in managing purchases and sales, building and maintaining a network of service providers, and understanding global markets and stocks for planning and hedging purposes. Following that, I took some time away from work for the past 6 months and was lucky enough to be able to spend that time backpacking. Now my goal is to find a role where I can build more tenure and continue growing as an operations and logistics specialist, and to lead a team of professionals in the future.
