Background
About Sarah Comstock
Professor of Biology with an emphasis on cell and molecular and physiology education. I have developed a robust undergraduate research program at Corban University that focuses on the molecular physiology of obesity, NAFLD, proteostasis, and cataract development. I am an academic advisor to pre-health care students and biology undergraduates. I train students in health care practices in developing countries with an emphasis on Haiti and Honduras. I work collaboratively with Santiam Hospital Molecular Lab to develop techniques for COVID testing as well as other molecular biology based tests. My lab at Santiam Hospital was the first in Oregon to implement SalivaDirect. Outside my paid career, I am the board of directors chairperson and part of the executive leadership team for Project Living Hope, a non-profit that empowers Haitians to build a stronger Haiti. I am the mother of 5 adopted children (1 from Haiti, 4 from foster care of Mexican heritage) and wife to the person (Ben Comstock, best elementary PE teacher in the state of Oregon) who is the drive behind all the accomplishments above.
