About Sarah Cummins

For the past six years, I’ve heavily researched endometriosis and how self-managing symptoms using complementary self-care therapies can positively impact the health-related quality of life of people with endometriosis. I am in the final stages of completing my dissertation and will graduate in February 2025 with my Ph.D. in psychology. As a researcher and writer, my focus is on encouraging, educating, and empowering people to thrive in life while living with chronic diseases by addressing the root causes of the symptoms they experience and using complementary self-care therapies to self-manage the conditions. I am endlessly curious about psychoneuroimmunology and the inherent bidirectional relationships between stress and inflammation, stress and chronic diseases, inflammation and chronic diseases, inflammation and mitochondria dysfunction, and mitochondrial dysfunction and chronic diseases. My desire is to spread awareness of these connections and the ways they affect our mental and physical health so that people can understand the root causes of their conditions and feel empowered to use individualized strategies to positively impact their health and well-being. Prior to entering the field of psychology, I spent two decades sharpening my administrative and managerial skills through a plethora of roles and diverse professional environments requiring the mastery of various strategies to achieve exceptional results, including outstanding oral and written communication, drafting and editing, public speaking, organization, leadership, diplomacy, project management, event planning and coordination, office management, bookkeeping, schedule coordination, delegation, research, and customer service. I am an innovative self-starter and quick learner who thrives when taking ownership of projects, as well as a team player who values effective collaboration and creativity. As a detail-oriented professional and avid scholar, I am dedicated to delivering high-quality outcomes by implementing problem-solving and time management strategies with accuracy and efficiency. I excel in fast-paced environments as my professional and educational experiences have made me exceedingly adaptable and excellent with performing under pressure. My advanced expertise with writing and editing documents will increase the marketability and professionalism of any company.
