About Sarah Cunningham

A driven and motivated Wildlife Conservation and Environmental Management BSc Graduate with a passion for wildlife, photography and bird ringing. I work well alone and as part of a team and I am keen to learn all aspects of any task set. I am now actively searching for a position that will help me continue my passions for conservation and wildlife. Currently working as a Community Engagement Officer at Birda. Birda is a new bird watching app designed for users to log sightings, sessions, compete in challenges and be part of a welcoming birding community. Recently finished working on the Farne Islands as a Seasonal Assistant Ranger, aiding with productivity survey work of Shags, Kittiwakes, Eider Ducks, Puffins and many more. I also engage with visitors regularly and have been part of a COVID-safe reopening. I thoroughly enjoy conversing with visitors and creating lasting memories and having a personable attitude. I have completed a voluntary placement year between my university studies, working for the National Trust at Attingham Park and my role included working as a Ranger, a Visitor Experience Assistant and as a member of Visitor Reception. When engaging with the general public, I make every effort to have a friendly, polite and personable attitude and like to be challenged with questions about tasks or the site in general. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I remained living at Attingham Park where I was able to assist with site maintenance, the mansion's collection and was a key part of the reopening the site in June 2020. I am keen to build my skills and I strive to push myself further towards my career goals.
