I was a lead assistant for American Red Cross Sample Management Department. I loved working with and being in charge of a team for such a worthy cause. I had a degree in business and wanted to transition into something that more closely related to my education. I decided to take a career change to medical billing. I fell into the legal aspect of billing, and started working with liens and attorneys on worker's compensation and personal injury claims. A lot of doctors don't understand their balances can be considered and protected per legal and lien statutes. I have helped form a niche in the legal billing aspect of medical billing for providers and hospitals. I am not certified or formally educated in legal, but the laws have been written in the form of statutes, and are public knowledge. They can be interpreted in several ways, but the grey areas can be simplified. I enjoy a challenge and learning new things, but most of all, being proficient and confident in the work I do.
