About Sarah Grant

I am currently studying a Master of Quantitative Economics at the Université Paris Dauphine - PSL. I have recently graduated from Queen's University Belfast with a BSc in Economics with French. My work experience includes an Events & Marketing internship with the Queen’s University Belfast Students’ Union Enterprise Team, which included supporting the team with the co-ordination and planning of programmes and events, creation of content for our social media pages, our website, and the SU Enterprise Newsletter, and the setup and updating of relevant databases. Working at my undergraduate university’s SU was an extremely rewarding experience as I have been able to learn from many of the informative events aimed at students that we ran, whilst improving my management, organisational and creative skills. I was also the President of the QUB French Society during academic year 2022/23, which was an extremely fulfilling role, giving me the opportunity to manage and support the committee with the organisation of many cultural, educational, and social events. I have the valuable experience of two 6-month internships working in two Magic-Circle law firms in Paris. From July 2021, I worked as a Best Delivery Intern at Clifford Chance LLP for 6 months, where I was mentored by my fantastically diverse team, who shared so much of their knowledge with me. Whilst improving my fluency in the French language, my team gave me the responsibility of analysing the financial performance of the firm each month in order to create a Paris Best Delivery Report which included extracting data, and creating graphs & pivot tables on Microsoft Excel. I also supported the team with drafting notes in English to be submitted to the global & local pricing committee. I also assisted in the update of the Best Delivery internal systems and databases, and set up meetings between our team and lawyers within the firm. I then spent 6 months as a Legal PA within the Banking & Finance Team at Allen & Overy LLP. This role was extremely rewarding as I had the opportunity to expand my French vocabulary further, and obtain many professional skills through my work supporting lawyers with post-closing execution & administrative tasks, entering lawyers’ expenses on SAP software for reimbursement, assisting with the organisation of events and training sessions including the updating of participation lists, compiling of information on evaluation forms, and the setting up of rooms for training sessions.
