Called to the Ontario Bar in 1985. The lawyers and law clerks of SMM Law assist residents of Northumberland County with their personal, family, and business legal issues. My own work hours are focussed primarily on working with individuals regarding their estate planning and assisting estate trustees with estate administration. I also work with a range of small businesses located in Northumberland County on corporate, leasing, contract and financing arrangements. SMM Law has represented a local home builder for the past thirteen years; we assist numerous individuals with the severance of lands, and the use of construction mortgages. We assist residents of Northumberland County with their family and business needs. We represent institutional commercial lenders and private residential lenders on loans secured against assets located in the County. SMM lawyers and law clerks assist tradespeople in securing and recouping monies owed on construction projects by utilizing Ontario’s construction lien legislation. We assist individuals with family law issues including cohabitation agreements, separations, divorces and child custody and support issues. We represent landlords seeking to collect overdue rents or to address other serious disputes with commercial or residential tenants. We prepare and file Small Claims Court documentation for individuals and corporations seeking redress for financial harm suffered to the court limits.
