About Sarah Lichter

With over fourteen years of experience as an attorney and a leader in the public sector, Sarah is currently the Chief of Investigations at the New Jersey Office of the State Comptroller, where she oversees investigations in the Medicaid Fraud Division. In this role, she leads a team of investigators, lawyers, auditors, and analysts who work to detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse in the state's Medicaid program. She also collaborates with other state and federal agencies, such as the Attorney General's Office, the FBI, and HHS, to coordinate and enhance her efforts to protect the integrity and efficiency of the program. Sarah's commitment to the public sector as a watchdog of public dollars has given her tremendous experience in government oversight, financial investigations, and program integrity. Prior to joining the State Comptroller's Office, she was an attorney at the Office of Inspector General of the School District of Philadelphia, where she conducted internal and external investigations involving fraud, corruption, misconduct, and policy violations. Before that, Sarah was a long-time prosecutor having spent many years trying cases as a Deputy Attorney General with the New Jersey Attorney General's Office, Division of Criminal Justice, and as an Assistant Supervisor of the Gun Violence Task Force at the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office, where she prosecuted and supervised cases involving firearms, narcotics, and other violent crimes. Sarah's mission is to serve the public, uphold the rule of law, and ensure good stewardship of public funds. She is passionate about fighting fraud and corruption, ensuring accountability and transparency, and promoting justice and fairness. Sarah brings diverse perspectives and experiences to her work, as well as a strong commitment to excellence, professionalism, and collaboration.
