A humanistic outlook with a technological skill set. I am an industrious problem-solver with field and lab research experience and a passion for user-friendly information management. My experience includes ethnographic, community-based research, excavation, field surveys, report preparation, and artifact and media cataloguing. I am interested in the ambiguous and complex, with a love of teasing out a narrative and developing a method for explanation. In recent years I have shifted from “dirt” archaeology to a focus in heritage management, particularly in digital formats. Recent technological developments such as 3D modeling have enabled us to digitally capture and share physical aspects of heritage, even those that are otherwise inaccessible or under threat. However, I am also interested in studying the ramifications of the “information-free-for-all” attitude enabled by Web 2.0, and the inherent tensions brought forth when concerning privileged or sacred information held by marginalized communities.
