About Sarah Lyttle

I specialise in non for profit governance, property advisory and brand development. For the past 25 years I have worked passionately in the Queenstown Lakes region. I have a proven track record in fulfilling vision through a strong commercial and strategic leadership. I have held board roles as Chairperson of Turn up the Music Charitable Trust, played a key role in the set up of the Three Lakes Cultural Trust. I was also part of the campaign team for successful Queenstown Lakes mayor candidate Glyn Lewers. Prior to my role with the NZ Nature fund I have spent the last 3 years working in the non for profit sector and growing my governance and leadership skills. Along with this I can be found part-time guiding clients in the mountains and am a qualified ski patroller and part-time musician. Before this I consulted to developers and tourism based clients for strategic marketing direction, along with representing a small and select number of individuals, assisting them with their individual property and investment needs. Previous to consulting work I oversaw the marketing and sales direction of Bendemeer- a High quality, 42 site rural land development, liaising with current land owners, agents, future buyers, property managers, developers and a variety of stakeholders which gave me invaluable experience and insight into the robust and exciting property market of the Southern Lakes region of Queenstown and Arrowtown. Bendemeer- which was a $23 million asset has equipped me highly in a diverse range of skillsets; working autonomously and requiring the ability to self manage, deliver accountable results, make appropriate financial and strategic decisions and seek advice where required within tight timeframes. Equally this role allowed me to with grow my network considerably well beyond the stretches of the tourism sector and Queenstown and develop my understanding and skills to cover planning, RMA’s, OIA, Governance, managing private infrastructure, negotiating with both landowners and potential investors and developers whist negotiating my way through economic and political challenges whilst bringing a distressed asset back to life post GFC.
