About Sarah Mayer

I am a fourth year undergraduate student double majoring in neuroscience and psychology at the University of Pittsburgh, Frederick Honors College. I currently serve as Pitt's Student Body President and am involved with a myriad of additional organizations on campus. I work as an undergraduate research assistant in the Behavioral Immunology Lab, carrying out biological assays and sample processing, under PI Dr. Anna Marsland. One of my deepest interests and pursuits is emergency medicine. I work as an Emergency Medical Technician for two ambulance services in the Pittsburgh area and teach EMT lab at the Center for Emergency Medicine. I spend time teaching community CPR and additional first aid response classes through Student EMS. At Pitt's School of Medicine, I work as an AHA CPR instructor to teach CPR to medical students. I am passionate about the intersection of psychosocial factors, the immune system, and later physiological outputs. After completing my undergraduate degree, I hope to obtain my Paramedic certification and then further expand my scope of practice with a graduate degree.
