I lead cross-disciplinary evaluation teams at two elementary schools through the pre-referral, referral, and evaluation processes, and partner with the team to write comprehensive data-based evaluation reports that determine educational needs and special education eligibility. Throughout the evaluation process, I build relationships with students and parents, and collaborate with general and special education staff and administrators in order to develop plans to support students. I also administer standardized cognitive ability tests and rating scales and conduct observations and interviews during evaluations, and I regularly facilitate meetings to discuss results of evaluations and proposed services. In addition, I serve as a consultant as part of the MTSS process in order to ensure research-based interventions are implemented prior to referral to special education.
