About Sarah Qabazard

I am a PhD Candidate in Nutrition and Health Sciences at Emory University, with a research focus on the epidemiology of diabetes and cardiometabolic disorders (obesity, hypertension, cardiovascular disease). My work centers on understanding childhood obesity dynamics and their long-term health implications, using complex data analysis of national health surveys and birth cohorts. Before starting my PhD, I worked as a Senior Research Assistant at Dasman Diabetes Institute, where I contributed to public health research in Kuwait, including the Kuwait National Population Health Survey and the Kuwait National Diabetes Registry. That experience, along with my passion for data-driven health solutions, led me to pursue a doctoral degree at Emory. I am particularly interested in bridging research and policy to improve public health strategies, both globally and in the Middle East. In the future, I aim to contribute to teaching, research, and health policy development to advance evidence-based solutions for chronic disease prevention.
