About Sarah Raphael

With over thirty years experience in the health sector, spanning clinical practise, teaching and learning, research, knowledge management, policy and advocacy and senior management, I possess a unique skill set. My roles have spanned government, academia, corporate and not-for-profit settings, including NFP Board experience. Originally trained as a Specialist Paediatric Dentist, over my career I have developed strengths in communication, critical thinking and strategic vision. I am highly self-motivated and innovative with a strong belief in teamwork and collaborative design. In partnership with colleagues and key stakeholders, my expertise in the area of health policy and advocacy has led to significant wins for improvements in community health outcomes in the areas of water fluoridation, aged care, rural and remote health and children's oral health. Previously working as the General Manager of Filling the Gap charity, which provides pro bono dental services for disadvantaged people, further sparked a passion to advocate for equity of access to oral health services for all people.
