About Sarah Roane

I am an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine and the Clinical Director of Dartmouth Health Behavioral Health Solutions (DHBHS) & PNO Behavioral Health. I spent 3.5 years as the Director of Psychological Mood Disorders Services for the Department of Psychiatry at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center before starting my current role at DHBHS. I received my Ph.D. from the APA accredited program in Counseling Psychology from the University of Louisville in 2018 and completed a postdoctoral residency at Emory University School of Medicine in 2019. Prior to obtaining my doctoral degree, I earned a Master's in Counseling Psychology at Northwestern University in 2006. Between 2006 and 2014, I worked as a licensed Mental Health Practitioner and Professional Counselor, seeing individuals and couples dealing with a variety of issues, such as depression, anxiety, grief, work/life stress, eating disorders, and addictions. During that time, I taught graduate level courses in Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling Skills and was selected as mentor and clinical supervisor to therapists in training at Northwestern.
