About Sarah Sanchez

I have been a teacher for seven years. I taught in both general education and Special Education classrooms with students in PreK through 2nd grade. All of my teaching experience has been in urban, underserved schools in St. Louis City and County. Previously to my full-time work as a teacher, I served at an Urban Teaching Intern and Aftercare Assistant Director in Omaha, NE for three years. During my time as a classroom and special education teacher, I served as Grade Level Leader and Teacher Leader on the schools Leadership Team. I worked as a curriculum writer for ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies, focusing primarily on grades K-2, but also collaborating with upper elementary. I led professional development and developed a differentiated professional learning program for teachers and staff. I also created a school-wide RTI program. I am currently an Instructional Coach, supporting teachers in urban public and charter schools using the Get Better Faster framework. I coach teachers on lesson planning and facilitation, support the instruction of certification coursework, evaluate educators, facilitate professional development, analyze data and trends, and collaborate with school leaders. This year, 100% of the teachers I coached stated they felt my coaching was the main driver of their growth and 100% said they felt heard and supported by me. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in School Leadership. I have certificates in Elementary Teaching (grades 1-6), Mild to Moderate Disabilities (grades K-12), and School Leadership (grades K-12).
