About Sarah Sattelmeyer

My work is focused on addressing systemic barriers to opportunity for families and communities, and I have cross-sector experience building strategic partnerships, identifying and developing evidence-based policies, implementing and scaling innovative programs, managing advocacy campaigns, and designing and executing policy-relevant research. I am committed to building and managing diverse teams, creating inclusive work environments, and advocating for racial and gender equity. My current area of focus is higher education, and I am interested in helping families maximize the potential of their postsecondary experiences, including efforts to increase college completion, address earnings and wealth disparities between white households and those of color, reduce the amount of debt that students take on, and improve the student loan repayment system. But my background in the family finance and social safety net fields means that I understand that, while education is among the most effective strategies available to bolster families’ economic security, it is a piece of a larger puzzle, and education-related programs need to be designed with families’ needs in mind.
