Background

About Sarah Tuckey

I am a strategic and results-oriented policy and advocacy leader with over a decade of experience advancing gender equality and human rights across U.S, Canadian, and global policy landscapes. My work bridges research, coalition leadership, and high-level advocacy to influence legislation, foreign policy, and funding for women’s and girls’ rights, LGBTQIA+ human rights, and sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice. At Oxfam America, I have led the development of intersectional feminist policy frameworks, advised major campaigns on gender integration, and represented the organization in high-level coalitions shaping federal and international policy. Beyond organizational leadership, I co-chair and serve on steering committees of influential coalitions that have successfully secured sustained GBV funding, advanced feminist foreign policy, and influenced USAID’s Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Policy. With a Ph.D. in Public Administration and a career spanning academia, consulting, and international NGOs, I bring a rigorous, intersectional approach to policy design and advocacy. I am passionate about transforming systems to center equity, justice, and dignity, and about working with diverse partners to achieve lasting change.
