About Sarah Valinezhad

Nestled in between the lights and shadows, the yesterdays and the today, the presence and absence, I long to capture Moments, to safeguard the suppressed stories, and to unravel the mystery of memory. By memory and in memory,I wander barefoot in the land of broken past looking for answers, or maybe remedy or even justice for the present, for the pain engraved in my soul, for the haunting scenes scratching my mind because nothing feels like past or forgotten, past never loses the battle with time, it always merges when it’s least expected, it lingers and colors the present, Maybe It doesn`t even have vivid exact imagery, but It is remembered by eyes of my skin, by abstract flows of colors, by the pressure on my shoulders and heaviness of my soul. As both elusive and profound, memory serves as a repository of personal narratives, cultural histories, and collective identities, the concepts that appear in the tapestry of my artistry process. The illustrations of fragile yet true moments of vulnerability, resilience, unity, and injustice.
