A decade in hands-on banking provided a firm foundation for my specialism in financial crime risk management, alongside compliance risk. I have extensive technical experience covering UK, EU and US financial crime legislation. I very much enjoy understanding financial crime banking regulation and in particular the art of converting those requirements to practical and workable business friendly solutions. People matter to me, and I hope that honesty, integrity and intelligent good humour are some of the qualities people see in me. I get the job done, whilst being open minded and flexible, sometimes in the face of adversity. I lead by creating trust, openness and transparency setting the example and inspiring belief that the impossible is possible. I am a good people manager. Throughout my career I have held positions of significant accountability including for example as a regulatory Approved Person for Financial Crime and Compliance for a Wholesale and International Banking Division. I have also been assigned as a material risk taker. It’s not all about work though is it! Outside work, as well as having two gorgeous young children, I also support local communities and particularly children’s education as a Board Director and I also chair a Church School Committee.
