About Sarish Mohar

A firm believer that altruism begets the greatest happiness a man can get. As such, I have endeavoured to give back to the society whenever I can. This is evidenced from my stints volunteering at numerous events. With a personal fondness for interacting with children, I went to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam for a week under my school's global citizenship program in 2013 to care for the orphans there as well as to teach them English and other life skills. It is on this trip there where I found that interacting with kids was my true calling in life and helped crystallize my purpose and sense of direction in life. Since then, my life goal is to build an orphanage in Singapore. I have also been consistently volunteering for the Worker’s Party, Singapore to serve the needs of the underprivileged and giving a voice to the voiceless. At present, I am an undergraduate Law Student reading my LLB (hons) in the University of Birmingham. I am humbled and grateful to have been awarded the LLB International Student Scholarship from the Birmingham Law School. My passion for the law can be seen from my proactiveness during my Diploma in Law and Management. I attended the Law Advocacy Justice Shield Competition each year making the grand-finals in 2015. With the belief that that the strength of the judicial system is only as strong as its ability to resonate with the common man on the street, I have also volunteered in a gamut of ways to the legal fraternity such volunteering in the Law Asia Moot Competition by the Law Society and the NUS Criminal Justice Conference. I have also interned at the Law Society Pro Bono office in the state courts as well as numerous law firms prior to my undergraduate studies. I am also an active debater who has debated and judged all over the world since 2013 attaining many accolades in the sport. More importantly, I am also deeply interested in teaching and education and as a result have made use of my experience in debate by coaching students across various age groups in debate and other oratorical competitions since 2014. In addition to debate coaching, I have also been a private tutor for English, Science and Literature from 2014 till 2017. Other things that interest me include Politics, Philosophy, Travelling, Poetry, Gender Studies & Existentialism. I live by the motto “ Acta Non Verba “ and aim to put my beliefs into practice by helping those around me. Yours Sincerely Sarish
