About Sarit Sivan

I’m Sarit, President of Braude College of Engineering in the Galilee, with a career that bridges academia, research, and innovation. My path has included serving as Head of the Biotechnology Engineering Department, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and, before that, years of research dedicated to biomaterials for biomedical applications. Along the way, I’ve been honored with prestigious grants such as the Marie Curie and ISF, and I was the first Israeli to receive the EU Prize for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Science. My research journey has resulted in several patents and the founding of a biotech startup in joint therapy—demonstrating how science can move beyond the lab to create real-world solutions. Today, my focus is on shaping an academic environment that does more than educate—it connects. I’m passionate about building partnerships that link academia with industry, community, and global challenges.
