About Saskrita Shrestha

As a Regional Economic Development Advisor with the Yukon government's Department of Economic Development, I work closely with businesses large and small, as well as First Nation governments, development corporations, government agencies, and organizations to enhance their operations and create meaningful, territory-wide economic impacts. My focus is on fostering sustainable economic development that benefits both local communities and the broader Yukon economy. Previously, I spent three years as a Communications Analyst with the government, where I developed expertise in strategic communication, public relations, and stakeholder engagement. This experience has been instrumental in my current role, enabling me to communicate complex economic initiatives to diverse audiences and ensure alignment between government objectives and community needs. In addition to my advisory responsibilities, I manage data entry and oversight for departmental project assessments and transfer payment management systems, ensuring accuracy and transparency in these processes. Before moving to government, I spent over five years in the non-profit sector, where I developed my expertise in communication, logistics, and organizational leadership. As an Executive Director, I led initiatives that brought together diverse stakeholders, managed logistics for 50+ events annually, and implemented programs that strengthened community connections This background shaped my belief in the power of collaboration to drive positive change. With expertise in social media management, marketing, and project management, I contribute to both the strategic and operational aspects of economic development. My goal is to help businesses and communities thrive, fostering long-term economic sustainability across the Yukon.
