The nature of problems - be it economic, social or business has become multi-layered, interconnected and complicated. Gone are the days when we could think using a linear mindset and get to the solution. Solving a problem in the digital advertising domain may require retail knowledge. For an analyst, the importance of the ability to learn rather than banking on a fixed set of expertise cannot be stressed enough. There is a need to look at the bigger picture and keep in mind the uber goal, which will aid in breaking the business problem into its technical counterparts. The analyst of today needs to be equipped with the right set of math, business and technological tools so as to be able to make sense of the vast quantities of data made available to him. I am fascinated by jobs that makes you wonder, forces you to brainstorm and come up with the most optimal solution within the given constraints. My long term goal is to be in the role of a decision maker so that I can use the data driven recommendations generated by the analyses to improve my business in the competitive marketplace. However, like most of my peers from the early twenties, I do not boast of a set path or career plan. I consider myself as an individual who can give his best and some more if the work appeals to my mind and soul.
