About Sattvik Basarkod
Hello! I am a Wayne State alumni with a bachelors in Honors Neuroscience. I am aspiring to go to medical school and get an MD PhD. My research interest is in behavioral neuroscience and neuroimaging tools to study protective factors of resiliency in children with trauma. I also want to work in the field of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, improving childhood mental health and maximizing utility of developmental neuroplasticity. I am interested in contemplative approaches to medicine such as mindfulness, yoga and art therapy. I am founder and former president of MindMeditate WSU, a meditation club on campus. Currently, I work as a research assistant at the Detroit Trauma Project. In my free time, I enjoy reading philosophy, hiking, meditating, and learning about new cultures.
