About Satu Lehti

My experience is a combination of analytical skills and supporting science and research, so I am able to contribute to e.g. R&D of clinical chemistry instrumentation or similar tasks. I find it important to support the development of health and wellbeing behind the scenes. I am specialised in lipids and lipoproteins in atherosclerosis and lipid metabolism especially in cardiovascular diseases. I have also long experience in developing in-house immunohistochemical methods. I have worked as a scientist in Wihuri Research Institute (where I also did my PhD thesis), and as a scientist in projects at HYKS-institute and University of Helsinki with a lipidomics project and lipoprotein purification, and also with a clinical chemistry intstrument (Indiko Plus). At Folkhälsan Research Center I worked with a steroid purification method development project. I have also collaborated with several science projects, writing and analyzing the results, some projects are still under way. I have over 15 years experience the field of biomedical research, I have published 3 first author articles and collaborated in 9 peer reviewed articles and 2 manuscripts in progress-lipoproteins atherosclerosis, lipidomics, atherosclerosis, lipids in atherosclerosis, mass spectrometry, immunological methods, immunohistochemistry, hands-on laboratory work-PhD in physiology, 2017 -M.Sc+B.Sc in biochemistry 2012, containing analytical chemistry Techniques and skills I master-Ultracentrifugation, lipid mass spectrometry, clinical chemistry analyzer (Indiko Plus)-Immunohistochemistry and fluorescent immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, histological techniques-Other immunological methods, such as ELISA, Western blot, and flow cytometry-Cell culture, laboratory animal experiments, and HPLC. Designing and planning laboratory experiments and optimizing the methods for my use, and working with laboratory technicians supervising their work. Before my career in science, I gained qualification in business and administration (YO-merkonomi) commercial institute in Leppävaara, Espoo (Espoon kauppaoppilaitos, 1991), after which I worked in a bank, an insurance company, and various offices.
