Teaching and coaching thousands of professionals over the last two decades has given me a unique view of the evolution of worklife. Right now, GenZ professionals need to hone human super-skills that weren't in their degrees, to thrive in this time of rapid change. And, y'know, AI. Their bosses need skills to manage a generation of professionals that is vastly different from their own. And videos on Udemy aren't going to do it. So my next Act cues me in: Education, superskill-enhancement and creativity in this post-digital world. That is now my life's work. Specialties: Education & Skill-dev content and community, creativity, GenZ workplace culture, building highly motivated creative teams (MY OLDER BIO) Educated as an engineer-MBA, Saurabh Kanwar missed the tech boom because he thought media was the future. He convinced his family that marketing at MTV was spiritually enriching. As the need to pay his EMIs became more urgent, he sought greener pastures with brand solutions in Walt Disney Television, and then as head of marketing at Radio City. Soon, Channel [v] offered to pay him a salary to hang out with cool VJs and get free CDs. Eventually, the charms of corporate-dom wore thin, and 'doing his own thing' took precedence over the mortgage. Saurabh found friends who let him convert all the time spent playing Tetris at work into a professional calling as founder of a digital content firm. Soon, he realised he didn't want to just grow organically because it was too much work, so he found a partner and investor who would indulge him in his spray-and-pray approach to entrepreneurship. At last count, he has co-founded/ mentored 4 ventures which he believes are connected to his core business of community-building in a world of digital creators. One of these, ATKT is building a community platform of the most talented college students in the country. One day, the folks at Kommune India looked at his homework on ATKT and figured he could bask in the reflected fame of their amazing creative community in exchange for doing lots of Zoom calls. He is hoping to impress his colleagues by dropping folksy thoughts-of-the-day couched as strategic thinking. Saurabh is married to a doctor, whose profession was recession-proof. until she too pivoted to being an entrepreneur. They have 2 children, both of whom have better strategic skills than him. On weekends he can be found lecturing at various professional colleges, preparing post-grad students for their careers in media and marketing by laughing rudely at their hopes and dreams.
