About Sav Bair

I'm a natural leader with a strong commitment to educational justice, and the skill set to match. My career goals maintain focus on community organizing, labor relations, applied research, school discipline structures, and the safety of marginalized communities in the workplace. Currently, I teach middle school science in Federal Way, Washington. I utilize data and community input in order to better serve my scholars and work toward creating a safer environment for the community. Additionally, I received my Master’s of Education Policy from the University of Washington in Seattle. I primarily focused my studies on how to create and implement better discipline polices in order to reduce the disproportionate rate in which BIPOC students are punished and alienated in schools. Further, this focus extends to increasing teacher effectiveness, and Queer & BIPOC teacher retention. These interests include utilizing Policy Design, Analysis, Implementation, Research and Recommendation, and Qualitative Research Design. Beyond my current teaching position, I have managed multiple research projects in pursuit of a more equitable and just education system for all.
