About Savannah Dodd

Savannah Dodd, PhD, is a photographer and anthropologist. In her role as the founder and director of the Photography Ethics Centre, she is commencing a one-year Practitioner Appointment at Queen's University Belfast's Centre for Creative Ethnography, funded by the ESRC. Savannah's academic research has been published in peer-reviewed academic journals. Her edited volume titled "Ethics and Integrity in Visual Research Methods" was published with Emerald Publishing Group in June 2020. Her PhD research explored the processes of archiving Troubles-era photographs in post-conflict Northern Ireland. Savannah is a member of the Ethical Journalism Network’s UK Committee, of the Ethics Panel for the Environmental Photographer of the Year Award, and of the board of Source Magazine. She sits on the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s Rural Deliberative Forum. Her work has been featured in the Belfast Telegraph, Newtownards Chronicle, Feature Shoot, Amateur Photographer, and PetaPixel. She has been interviewed on BBC Radio 3, Dublin City FM, Documentary Storytellers Podcast, and The Beginner Photography Podcast. She has been quoted in Artnet and The New Statesman, among others. In 2021, Savannah was recognised as one of the UK's most inspirational female entrepreneurs by Small Business Britain's #ialso100 campaign.
