About Savini K.

Category buying assistant for Women’s footwear at Myer. I have a very diverse background having studied in 4 different schools including university across 3 different countries. At RMIT, I focused my academic coursework on expanding my knowledge of product development and design relevant to the fashion industry with extensive industry management expertise alongside knowledge to be innovative and entrepreneurial and in the management of fashion production and supply chains, both in Australia and overseas. My study and career interest are mostly towards retail buying/ retail management. I am eager to learn and develop skills in this area, given the opportunity to. I am also passionate about the workings of stages throughout the global supply chain, digital strategies, global marketing, sustainability development/ studying the global impacts of the fashion industry. I have good command of data analysis tools, digital design applications, Adobe applications, Microsoft Office applications, product development tools etc. My work background has had a demonstrated history in the hospitality industry due to flexible hours while studying. I believe working in face paced environments for various organizations have taught me important work-life skills useful to my career in fashion. Skills such as creative thinking, resiliency, appropriate work etiquette, networking, positively reflect on constructive criticism, critical thinking, communication, taking on challenges, ability to self-direct etc. I have also worked and studied in many backgrounds which has given me the opportunity of working with a very diverse groups of people. I exhibit an entrepreneurial mentality and am eager to learn and adapt to different environments. My role at Myer has allowed be to enhance all skills learnt throughout my bachelor’s study and had provided me with real life challenges to further improve my career development.
