About Sawan Devante

My professional journey began at 15, working at McDonald's as a crew member earning $7.75/hour. My work ethic stood out, and I was promoted to Crew Trainer—a title I held proudly by the time I left. That early experience instilled in me a deep respect for consistency, accountability, and delivering great service. Since then, I’ve grown through a variety of roles in retail, food service, logistics, and now category management. Today, I serve as a Category Support Specialist at Weigel’s Stores, where I analyze sales data, run performance and inventory reports, and assist in developing planograms to optimize product placement. I support our Category Managers—who also serve as Directors of Marketing and Loyalty—in identifying assortment opportunities and driving strategic growth across the organization. In 2023, I earned my GED from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College and am currently pursuing an Associate of Science degree. I’m grateful for every colleague and mentor who has contributed to my growth.
