Hello! I'm Saya Kimura, Senior Staff for CEO, Corporate Planning, Yanmar Ventures Co Ltd. Yanmar Ventures Co, Ltd. has a mission to make a better future with the talents of those who we work with. We invest in start-ups with ‘world-changing technology’ and through co-creation with our network, we return the results to society, leading to a future society and more prosperous lives. Our CVC is a relatively new, having been set up on 9 April 2021. We have just celebrated our 3rd anniversary this year. Despite being a CVC, we are unique entity which has flexible and quick decision making like an independent VC. We’re still a small organisation, so as a start-up ourselves, we aim to grow every day. We're really excited to be using LinkedIn as a company and as an individual to improve our corporate branding. My Carrier: After graduating from university, joined Yanmar Co Ltd (now Yanmar Holdings Co Ltd). Mainly engaged in international legal affairs in the legal department, particularly in handling PL lawsuits in the United States. Handled two US PL cases and obtained favorable judgements, which were Yanmar Co, Ltd. v. Slater, 386 S.W.3d 439, 443 (Ark. 2012) and Wanda H. Johnson Admx of the Estate of Aaron Eamest Johnson v. Yanmar Co, Ltd. Et al. Case No. 02-CV-2005-001141.00 (13th Cir. Alabama)). In 2013, transferred to the Corporate Planning Department of Yanmar Holdings Limited, where having engaged in M&A, mainly cross-border (seven overseas cases and two domestic cases). Also supported the development of management strategies and implemented cross-group projects. Since 2018, carried out tax and strategic planning, conducted activities related to family charter and family governance at the Family Office. In 2021, Yanmar Ventures Co Ltd was established and extensively involved in the Corporate Planning Department, including planning management policies and strategies, accounting and finance, fund management, human resources, legal affairs and public relations. Strength of myself : I often find myself in challenging environments, but I believe I have the ability to accomplish difficult things.
