About Saya Shipper

My name is Saya Shipper, and I am a graduate from Saint Thomas More Collegiate, preparing for my path in industrial design at Emily Carr University. I am currently a part-time pharmacy assistant at Nester’s SFU. Through my experience in a professional setting, I have learnt and sharpened my skills. These skills primarily include customer-service, attention-to-detail, multi-tasking, system’s navigation, and cash-handling. To be accompanied with the task of filling multiple prescriptions, answering the phone from various patients, whilst answering to the next pick-up or drop-off, was certainly a learning curve, yet I found myself well-integrated in my environment, through my determination to learn. Through my immersion at a busy and precise work environment, I have learnt skills of balance and stress management, alongside fun pharmaceutical facts :)In my free time, I immerse myself in various mediums of art, areas of design, and the design process, through my ongoing portfolio creation. Furthermore, the support of the materials engineering facility at STMC has allowed me to hone in on my CAD (computer automated design) skills as a teacher’s assistant.I hope to continue my journey of design exploration at Emily Carr University!
