2010 Volunteer Qwest Field Work concession stand as cashier/ alcohol server to help benefit select baseball team Intern-Lake Forest Park Police Department, Lake Forest Park, WA Completed miscellaneous task around the office as directed by office personnel this included filing, checking receipts with account statements, and charting maps of crimes that occurred in specific areas within the city limits. Ride-along with officers to observe daily tasks while working in the field. I also conducted department surveys on safety issues, such as drivers wearing seatbelts, etc as requested by office personnel. I worked on various computer programs, deleting unwanted or outdated information in computer files that were non-essential per staff requests. In addition, merging computer files to eliminate duplicate files on individuals per staff requests. 1994-1997 Explorer with Edmonds Police Department (#734) Edmond, WA Continuous learning opportunities about the daily workings of a police department and the immense responsibility associated with the individuals who have dedicated their lives to law enforcement. I actively participated in community work, such as providing security for various city events. I assisted with D.A.R.E. graduations at elementary schools, directed traffic at special city events. Lastly, I took part in training sessions for officers i.e. acting roles for scenarios to prepare officers in the field. I assisted with various tasked asked of me. I participated in the Washington Law Enforcement Explorer Advisors Association Academies as offered to Explorers. This includes attendance, participating in crime scenarios, report writing, and education in specific fields within law enforcement. 1992-1993 Teacher Aid Parkwood Elementary Shoreline, WA I assisted first grade teacher in classroom. Primarily my task was helping students with Math, Reading, and Art in small groups or 1:1.
