Shout out to our overall #1 International Residential Design Team winners OLALA INTERIORS. We have previously taken the 5*Star Best in South Africa Awards, and then followed up with the Best in Africa Interior Design Private Residence Awards, and now it has just been announced that this past year, OLALA INTERIORS outshined their contemporaries in the USA, Europe, UK, Africa and Arabia, winning overall Best Internationally Designed Private Residence 2023.(Background info: Initially an eighty member panel scores projects per country, for us SA. Each country’s winners are then scored against each other per region/continent (Africa, Arabia, Europe, USA, UK, Australia etc). These regional winners’ projects are then again adjudicated by a panel of industry professionals, where the projects are scored and the international winner announced.) OLALA was previously also honoured at the African Property Awards in association with Salice at The Waldorf Astoria Palm Jumeirah Hotel on 11th October 2018 for our project CLIFTON SPLENDOUR. We competed against the best property professionals across the African region and were ultimately presented with the highest scoring 5 STAR AWARD and recognised as the BEST in the INTERIOR DESIGN - PRIVATE RESIDENCE category. We also received an award as NOMINEE for Best in Africa - which includes projects in and around the Indian Ocean Islands. OLALA won ROMO International Top Interior Designer of the Year for KZN Award for 3 consecutive years 2016, 2017 & 2018. This magnificent accolade took us to Maison & Objet in Paris, courtesy of ROMO where we met and engaged with the designers of international fabric & wallpaper houses in Paris. The 2018 KZN HF Top Design & Specifier of the Year Award was also awarded to OLALA and we have just returned from New York where we attended the ECFF and met new suppliers and manufacturers. Having started OLALA Interiors 31yrs ago with the motto of “come to work to be excellent” and fierce pride in my work and product, I still have an unquenchable love for the interior design business. It is one of the few careers where one can dream wildly and see concepts become a reality daily. Also one of the few careers where age and experience counts in our favour – creatives are known to be at their best after 50… so I’m well into the right time warp now! Offering a full decorating and design consultancy, my team and I design the full spectrum interiors for homes. We then go a step further to manufacture and install everything from front to back door.
