Background

About Scott A. Barkman

As CEO of Barkman, I lead the company, shape corporate culture and build the community internally and externally. I have the opportunity to join into the great family heritage I have been blessed with and expand upon the entrepreneurship, philanthropy and strong community relationships that have come before me. My forefathers helped shape the communities of Southern Manitoba ever since arriving in Canada with the first local Mennonite immigrants in 1874. Early on, the Barkmans built the community as millwrights, providing flour milling as a necessary service to the village of Steinbach. Later, they contributed as civil servants who helped incorporate Steinbach into a town and develop foundational infrastructure that would propel Steinbach forward. Most recently, the Barkmans serve the broader community of Western Canada as business leaders in precast concrete manufacturing. I gratefully join this work, continuing this legacy of impacting others and building communities through my professional work and community involvement. Let us continue building our communities together! If you would like to connect, please contact me.
