Dr. Scott A. Morris received his PhD in Agricultural Engineering from Michigan State University and has worked in industry both directly and as a consultant on a wide range of projects. Dr. Morris founded the University of Illinois Packaging Laboratory in 1992, developed a nationally-recognized packaging research and teaching program, and was the first University of Illinois faculty member to offer ABET accredited, asynchronous computer-based online engineering courses beginning in 2004. He has published broadly in fields ranging from bioethics to engineering and continues towork on the development and implementation of new technologies focused on the food, pharma and CPG sectors. Other work involved the role of large-scale informatics in supply-chain, distribution, customer response and product development as well as the continued evolution of dynamic scanning infrared thermography (DSIRT), developed in his research laboratory.
