I am the lead Camera Systems Engineer at Spoor, a Norwegian AI biodiversity monitoring company working the global wind energy industry. My role encompasses project engineering, R&D planning and testing, as well as designing and project managing the installation of camera hardware for long-term operations in diverse and challenging environments, both offshore and onshore globally. Additionally, I bridge Spoor’s commercial and software engineering teams, collaborate with clients and their operations teams during installations, and maintain strong relationships with leading camera and housing manufacturers. Background Highlights- Project engineering, product sourcing and testing, planning, building and delivery of full camera and data transmission and storage systems designed to survive and operate 24 hours a day, year round in environments like the North Sea (eg. ocean buoys and offshore wind turbines)- Film & Broadcast Industries: Over 20 years of experience as a documentary Director of Photography/camera operator in very remote & harsh environments. My credits include National Geographic, Discovery Channel, NHK Japan, CCTV China and ARTE- Animal Behaviour Researcher: Postgraduate degrees in Psychology and Marine Science, including time as a professional SCUBA diver and contract field researcher studying New Zealand rainforest bat species- Industrial Rope Access: Former member of rope access film teams working inside active volcanoes, conducting post-earthquake geo-technical work, alpine cliff rescue, construction of wind industry Met masts, LIDAR installations and maintenance of wind turbines. I am currently based in Oslo, Norway.
