About Scott Berry

My career began in crop science, working both in the lab and the field after completing a Bachelor of Biotechnology at ANU. After working with small team on a plant-scanning conveyor project which involved robotics engineers and software developers, I was inspired to begin studying IT part time at UC, and after a year I was still really enjoying it so resigned from CSIRO to complete my studies (Grad Dip of IT, GPA 6.125).I now work at Oracle in the Intelligent Advisor group, focusing primarily on data integration between our product and other internal and or third party products. A typical day involves writing code for web services, and web and desktop applications which use those services in languages including Java, C#, TypeScript/JavaScript with an emphasis on high unit test coverage, and every addition structured for compatibility with the continuous delivery process. To me, the most satisfying aspect of programming is the feedback which makes its way back to me via forums or even direct emails about how a feature I've released has made someone's day.
