About Scott Caldwell

I just retired from professional soccer after my 11th season in MLS. I was very fortunate to have been able to play 2 years with Real Salt Lake and 9 years with my hometown New England Revolution, a dream come true! My love for soccer, sports, and overall competition, began in my early years. I grew up the youngest of 4, always trying to compete with my older siblings. The constant 1v1 and 2v2 games in the yard or basement helped teach lessons and build the competitive mindset that I needed to improve and mature. As we got older, those moments of competition turned to moments of support throughout, and all of it was vital in my growth and in who I am today. Prior to playing professionally, I graduated from the University of Akron with a major in accounting and minor in human resource management. In my rookie season, I passed all 4 CPA exams. Throughout my 11 year career, I was an executive board member of the MLSPA, helping make informed decisions, reviewing and approving financials and budgets each year, and leading communications to player representatives and players across the league. I was named the New England Revolution Humanitarian of the year in 2019, due to my volunteering with many non-profits and being the first active professional athlete to walk as an ally in the Boston pride parade. I also negotiated 2 of my own MLS contracts, shadowed positions across the organization, and represented the team in interactions with fans, sponsors, media, and other stakeholders. As my playing career has come to an end, I am passionate to use my analytical skills I have developed over the years, my knowledge and experience in professional soccer, and my problem solving abilities to help a visionary organization improve their product and lead their clients to continuous improvement in all facets of their business. Having worked in a high pressure environment my entire career, I have had to showcase and provide effective communication skills under all circumstances. Throughout my career, both collegiately and professionally, I have been committed to making a positive impact on those around me. From leading by example and building relationships on and off the field, to working and helping others in the community, I have put an emphasis on respecting others, being dependable, and because I enjoy what I do, I thrive and so do others. These are my pillars to success and it is my hope that they will only improve the lives of those around me.
