About Scott Debusk

I am a graduate of Boise State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology with my emphasis being in Secondary Education. I spent a fair amount of time following further interests–enough to earn a Minor in Psychology, ignite a deep appreciation for mathematics, and a gentle nudge to keep learning about languages. There was always encouragement to pursue what excites me while focusing on the goal at the end. So I did.While I spent many years in the optical world gathering and sharing information, the goal has always been to be in the classroom. Some of the people skills I have learned will be useful, many others will be invaluable. I'm looking forward to putting them to the test.Is that what you want to read about, or would you rather it be about my interests and personality?We have two dogs: Dundee, King of the River & Carl Sagan Star Stuff. We call them 'Dundee' and 'Cosmo'. They are, respectively, a three-year old Brittany and a one-year old Border Collie. Luckily, I am a patient person; which is needed with a continuous puppy in the house.I believe the adage that "multitasking is doing twice as much as you should, half as well as you could." So, I strive to be an excellent single-tasker. Doing one thing, the right way, the first time. Although, as a scientist and teacher, I know failure to be a good lesson. I seem to be continually reading-about or looking-into topics or ideas that pique my curiosity. Luckily for me these usually fall into the STEM realm of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology; plus, the bits of psychology that cross into each of those boundaries. There is such an overlap between everything in life that it sometimes seems counterproductive to delineate the boundaries between the sciences. As a student, I'm glad they do. imagine the midterms.
