About Scott Downey

I have been active in the Software Industry for more than 20 years, holding positions at nearly every level of successful organizations from Associate Developer to VP of Engineering and Chief Software Architect. During this experience, it has become clear to me that you may have the very best technology in the world or the most innovative product ever created but it is entirely useless if you cannot execute on the reliable, predictable delivery of it to the market. With that in mind, I have focused the last half of my career on creating processes and patterns to optimize both the reliability and predictability of that critical delivery. Though I have worked with a variety of methodologies, I am specifically focused on creating healthy, expanding and Hyper-Productive Scrum that scales but am well versed and often implement other forms of Agile for my clients when Scrum isn't the right fit for a given Team or initiative. I am a Certified Scrum Practitioner, a member of both the Scrum Alliance and the Agile Alliance and have been honored to work with Dr. Jeff Sutherland, the inventor of Scrum, quite frequently to co-author papers on new best practices as well as arranging and co-teaching Scrum Master Certification courses in Beverly Hills. Specialties: Rapid bootstrapping of effective Scrum teams, and better collection, interpretation and visualization of driving metrics for team performance.
