I am a national leader in military- and government-connected behavioral health, specializing in security-clearance psychology, operational psychology, and the design of large-scale behavioral systems that improve readiness and resilience among geographically dispersed populations. I founded ClearancePsych, the first and only security-clearance psychology collaborative, providing evaluation, treatment, and mitigation coaching to cleared professionals, attorneys, and government stakeholders. I currently oversee the National Industrial Security Program psychological evaluation effort for the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency—leading the nation's most extensive cadre of security-clearance psychologists.My career spans 30 years across Special Operations, Army aviation, military treatment facilities, community mental health, university clinics, youth programs, hospitals, autism centers, and private practice. I serve in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Behavioral Health Officer, bringing operational insight to my clinical and consulting work.As a founding partner of the award-winning Star Behavioral Health Providers program (starproviders.org), I have extensive experience in building, training, and sustaining nationwide networks of high-quality behavioral health professionals serving military communities. Previously, as a Senior Psychological Health Advisor at the National Guard Bureau, I developed standards and supported nearly 500 behavioral health personnel nationwide.I am licensed in Indiana and Virginia, board-certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology, and trained in Counseling Psychology (Ph.D, Ball State University), Clinical Child Psychology and Pediatric Neuropsychology (University of Minnesota Medical School), and Health Innovation & Implementation Science (Indiana University School of Medicine).Alongside clinical and operational work, I design, implement, and study social- and behavioral-science interventions that help organizations solve real-world problems—ranging from reducing financial institution robbery risks to improving Army Wellness Center follow-ups to increasing engagement and generosity in faith-based settings.I’m committed to strengthening the national security workforce, expanding access to informed behavioral-health care, and helping individuals and institutions think, act, and function at their best.
