As a kid, loved selling lemonade on the corner. In middle school, saved money from refereeing soccer games to invest in a new CD burner technology - which helped set up a monopoly at school - receiving custom playlists, downloading songs on Napster, delivering a CD the next day. Made a deal with the owner of a local gym to clean the place in order to train there with the rest of the soccer team. Held at least one job throughout high school, two jobs each summer. Went to San Diego State University. Started a house painting business as a branch of College Works Painting. Over revenue on 20+ jobs running 3 crews in one summer. Won Southern California Manager of the Year honors. First investment in the stock market came in April 2009, after watching massive drawdown of the Global Financial Crisis. Graduated in May 2009. Started going the financial advisor route and discovered that I was more interested in how things work behind the scenes. An old professor recommended looking into the CFA program. Went to an information session and heard that less than 10% who enrolled for Level One became a CFA charterholder. Challenge accepted. Found an opportunity with Lattice Strategies on the CFA job board and started observing everything possible. Acquired by Hartford Funds in 2016. 10+ years of amazing learning opportunities for which I am truly grateful.
