About Scott Galster

Dr. Galster is the Chief Operating Officer at Mile Two. He received his Ph.D. in Applied Experimental Psychology from the Catholic University of America and undergraduate degree from the Ohio State University. Scott is responsible for establishing and tracking the strategic, operational, and tactical activities that will drive growth for Mile Two. From a research perspective, Dr. Galster has focused on all aspects of human performance research, including physical, cognitive, behavioral, biomarker, physiological, environmental, and social measures used to assess an individual’s or team’s functional state. The focus of these efforts is to improve human-machine teaming and performance in multiple domains. Prior to joining Mile Two, Dr. Galster served as the Executive Director of Applied Research at the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and Professor in the Department of Neuroscience in the School of Medicine at WVU. He also served as the Senior International Focal Point for the 711 Human Performance Wing at Wright-Patterson AFB and as the Air Force Working Group Chair for the Secretary of Defense, Community of Interest for Human Systems. Preceding that, Dr. Galster was the Chief of the Applied Neuroscience Branch at the Air Force Research Laboratory. Dr. Galster brings over twenty years of strong experimental methods developed while running basic, applied, and advanced research projects. Scott developed the Sense-Assess-Augment framework and is expanding its original use in military and athletic populations and applying it to complex interactions between people, technologies, and work. Dr. Galster has over 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
